Normal blood sugar ranges
For most healthy people, the normal blood sugar levels are:
- Fasting : between 4.0 to 5.4 mmol/L (72 to 99 mg/dL)
- 2 hour after eating: Up to 7.8 mmol/L (140 mg/dL)
What is the ideal blood sugar levels for type 2 diabetes?
For people with type 2 diabetes, the ideal blood sugar levels should be:
- between 4 to 7 mmol/L before meals and,
- less than 8.5mmol/L after meals.
